Children Victims of Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CVSAE)

The children victims of sexual abuse and exploitation are frequently humiliated and ignored in our country’s socio-cultural context. They have been made isolated and are not recognized a part of the society. This project CVSAE project of AB aims to rehabilitate approximately 2,000 street CSEAC through having a positive and empowering impact on them by developing their active participation, and affect long-term change via learning and advocacy through national and legal structures. Girls are prioritized for protection services and particular efforts made to disengage them from sex work. The project is driven by the children’s own priorities and involves local communities & organizations.

The project operates two 24-hours shelter homes for children victim or at risk of sexual abuse and exploitation. It intends to ensure safe and secured shelter, food, non-formal and formal education, preventive & curative healthcare services, psychosocial support, recreation, skills/vocational training followed by job placement, family reunification, social integration etc for its target beneficiaries. Moreover, children’s participation in decision making ensures transparency and accountability of the management and contributes a lot to their empowerment. The project also emphasizes on enhancing their knowledge/skills/capacity so that they can become aware of their rights, protect themselves and their peers from abuse and exploitation by influencing and involving local community people & public representatives in terms of prevention, protection and rehabilitation.

Target group are

1. Street based child victims of sexual abuse and exploitation aged 9-16 years.

2. Disadvantaged children at risk of sexual abuse and exploitation.
