Public hearings on Legal Aid Issue:
The objective of the event was to improve the understanding among the government, police makers, local leaders, and the relevant institution’s members. Through the question-and-answer session of the event community, people will get free legal advice on van various issues like land disputes, family disputes, financial disputes, etc. It will help them solve their problem. This event will help to implement the lobby and advocacy program and the attitude of all relevant people will change in a positive way.
Quarterly Stakeholders Meeting with Panel Lawyers:
Advocate Md Bony Amin, a Panel Lawyer of DLAC and General Secretary of Bar, Jhalokathi, said that Legal Aid Service is a good initiative for poor disadvantaged people. “Legal aid case filing budget is not sufficient. Sometimes the expense for case filing crosses the amount of allocated bill for panel lawyers. We would like to humbly request to pay an amount as advance for case filing. Most of the clients come from rural area, and they are not solvent enough. They cannot even manage the transport cost to come to Legal Aid Office. Ad valorem court fees is also a burden for them.” Finally, we request support providers such as PPJ, and DLAC to provide a Diary and Calendar beginning of the year.

Every citizen of our union has the right to get legal aid services and legal counseling from DLAO. Now the Judges take participate in union-level public hearings. So that village people get a chance to meet with judges directly and get free legal aid services. It is a new idea. We, the union parishad trying to disseminate information about LAS among the mass people.
