Courtyard meeting: At the courtyard meeting held on the date 12.06.2022 Nannar union under Dhamrai upazila, Ms.Lota Akhter said she got married three years ago in the neighboring Union suapur, After the marriage, their family was doing well. One year after the birth of a daughter, her husband tortured her physically and mentally for dowry. Akter is currently at father 's home, his daughter's maintenance is not for their husbands. I came to this courtyard meeting today and learned about the work of Legal Aid. I am seeking the help of Legal Aid for my problem.
UPLAC Bi-monthly Meeting: The UPLAC monthly meeting was held on the date 11.6.2022 Mr. Md. Mijanur Rahman Miju, Chairman of Jadabpur union under Dhamrai Upazila and President Union Legal Aid Committee said that today I learned about the Legal Aid support issue so Information is power, we will continue our monthly meeting, the more awareness campaign meetings will doing others union, school and collages, Bazar samity and you can also aware madrasha and masjid committee about this issue and distribution awareness materials and the helpline 16430 number.
UZLAC Bi-monthly Meeting: The UZLAC monthly meeting at held on the date 15.6.2022 Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mr. Mazharul Islam said that we are holding Bi-monthly meetings of Savar Union Parishad but this meeting is much better if we do it with law enforcement meeting. Application forms from the District Legal Aid Office are given to the Upazila Parishad. These application forms will be with the Upazila Information Officer. When a person comes to the Upazila Parishad for legal assistance, we will fill up this form and send it to the District Legal Aid Office. At every bi-monthly meeting we need to inform how many clients from Savar Upazila Parishad have gone to the District Legal Aid office, Dhaka.
Public Hearing: Joining in the Public Hearing event on the date 13.06.2022, Nannar Union under Dhamrai Upazila, Dhaka, Md. Nurul Haque asked the learned District Legal Aid Panel Lawyer of Dhaka, my nephew's daughter got married 4 years ago in a nearby village. Her husband has been torturing her physically and mentally in various ways since the marriage and for dowry, the girl is pressured in various ways. We try to resolve this issue through arbitration by looking at the two sides socially but it is not resolved. The boy later sends a divorce letter to the girl but the girl has not received any letter or divorce letter so far “How can we get help from the District Legal Aid Office? In response to the question representative of District Legal Aid Office, Advocate Zahid Hasan said that in the divorce letter one letter comes to the union council office and another letter comes to the girl's side, if the girl does not receive any such notice, she can sue the court on behalf of the girl for her mohorana and maintenance. So come with your nephew's with her detailed address copy of the marriage certificate from the marriage register office and court marriages certificate to the District Legal Aid Office, Dhaka.
Video Projection: The video projection was held on the date 13.06.2022 Mr. Md. Habibur Rahman, Union Secretary, Nannar union under Dhamrai Upazila, Dhaka said that Today we saw the various videos of Legal Aid issues that we liked a lot. The people who learn when they watch are much more useful than reading. This is the first time I've seen this kind of activity. I want the people to know more about legal aid service issues and encourage them to get legal aid services.
Client Consultation Meeting: The Client Consultation Meeting held on the date 16.06.2022 Dhamrai union under Dhamrai Upazila, I came to the last meeting and talked about my problem and the case was filed from the District legal aid office said ms. Anjuman Ara and filing took place in February but one of them came to attend and my lawyer said that the case has been filed but it cannot be rushed. The case will be handled according to the court system. She said her case was proceeding very slowly Then the District Legal Aid Office and Mr. A.K.M Rakibul Hasan Sir said that since there are many cases on the way, you have to be patient and cooperate in handling the case. Then Anjuman Ara said that it costs me a lot of money and time to come and go to Dhaka and now I am having good communication with my husband again. My husband wants to take care of me now and he has promised to support my son and daughter so I want to take up the case again. And you let me settle the matter in your office by arbitrating? Then he orders the District Legal Aid Office assistant to take up the matter and provide a date for arbitration.
