Aparajeyo-Bangladesh is implementing the Safe Digital Space for Girls and
Youth (SDSGY), Second Phase, with the support of its development partners.
The project aims to improve digital resilience and expand economic
opportunities for girls and young people from marginalized communities in
Bangladesh.
In today's digital age, millions of young people in Bangladesh,
especially girls and young women, remain excluded from the opportunities
offered by the internet. Gender inequality, poverty, limited educational
opportunities, and online risks continue to create barriers to digital
inclusion.
The SDSGY project addresses these challenges by integrating digital
literacy, online safety, and vocational training into a comprehensive
program designed to empower vulnerable youth and create safe and
meaningful participation in the digital world.
Project Goal
Youth in Bangladesh, especially girls and young women from marginalized
communities, have improved digital resilience and economic opportunities.
Project Outputs
1. Youth economic empowerment through training in market-relevant,
future-ready skills to unlock income opportunities.
2. Stronger collaboration with government stakeholders to secure
advocacy, endorsement, visibility, and smoother nationwide execution.
3. Revamped digital literacy content tailored to evolving needs.

RWDO, and Bangladesh Community Radio.
Implementation Period
1 March 2026 - 30 April 2028.
Project Budget
14,990,000 BDT.
Project Location
Dhaka, Gazipur, Mymensingh, Narayanganj, Munshiganj,
Chattagram, Barishal, Jhalokati, Patuakhali, Barguna,
and Tangail.
Target Group
• 120,000 courtyard sessions in communities.
• 80,000 sessions in schools and colleges.
• 200 youth participating in economic empowerment activities.
• 30 youth-led awareness campaigns.
Reach
The project will reach 250,000 girls and young people
(15-34+ years) across the Aparajeyo-Bangladesh working areas.
