The global March Against Child Labour aims to support efforts to build and reinforce national and regional coalitions, enhancing capacities for participation and improving knowledge management and activities. It will not support beneficiaries directly. The project aims to campaign and advocate at the grass root and national level. The intervention strategies included within the Global March and Aparajeyo-Bangladesh MOU highlight the importance of building national and regional capacities of the movement. Global March draws its strength from national organisations which share its fundamental principles and objectives and the aim of the project is to support efforts to build and reinforce national and regional coalitions, enhancing capacities for participation and improving knowledge management and activities.
The project intends to mobilise national and international efforts through press conferences, divisional and national consultations to protect and promote the rights of all children, especially the right to receive a free, meaningful education and to be free from economic exploitation and from performing any work that is likely to be harmful to the child's physical, mental, spiritual, moral or social development. The project also works on sensitizing political actors, employers, workers’ and civil society organizations and the public through a broad range of awareness-raising programmes on the value of education and child protection and the dangers of child labour, including in terms of children’s health, employment outcomes as adults, and intergenerational poverty.
