Weekly activities for the duration of 21 June to 27 June 2021

Miking Campaign: Mr. Md. Khorshed Alom Sagor, Secretary of Ashulia Union under Savar Upazila of Dhaka district said “Currently, the miking of legal aid during corona disasters will play a much more important role for the general public. They know the Legal Aid helpline number through this miking as they cannot go to the District Legal Aid office so they can get the service through this helpline. The Miking Campaign on Govt. legal aid services from village to village will make more people aware. It will be helpful for them to seek such services in future”

School Campaign: Shifa Akter, a student of Grade 10 of Jadabpur B.M High School & College under Jadabpur Union under Dhamrai Upazila, Dhaka “At first he expressed reluctance to campaign for the school. After getting the briefing on legal aid including rules and responsibility as citizens, then he expressed interest in doing a school campaign. In her response, she said that, we didn't know about Legal Aid Support from any source. we came to know about such an important facility of Government for getting justice and National Legal Aid Helpline number 16430. This helpline number will be very useful to the poor people in the current pandemic situation. We liked it very much and we can tell our family and neighbors from now and onwards”

UPLAC Meeting: Mr. Md. Ashkar Ali, Chairman of Basta Union Parishad under Keraniganj Upazila of Dhaka District said that “The government has taken good initiatives for poor and disadvantaged people, But due to the outbreak of corona pandemic situation many women from my union are not able to go to the district legal aid office for legal aid services and we are not able to send any client to Dhaka as the legal aid office is closed with the district office so we are providing services to them through arbitration in our union council”

Courtyard Meeting: Ashia khatun(Housewife) Aminbazar Union under Savar Upazila, Dhaka, said that “I came to this meeting today and learned about the issue and many women are not aware about this issue so, people can know more about this law through the more meeting.”
