Courtyard meeting: Date 25.11.2021, Ms. Rina rani Sarker (Housewife) Sanora Union under Dhamrai Upazila said that I came to the courtyard meeting today and learned a lot about legal aid. She also said that the dowry problem is most prevalent in her area especially in Hindu society. During the marriage, the daughter is given in marriage with dowry and after the marriage, the husband's family puts pressure on the daughter's family in various ways for the dowry and causes emotional pain.
UPLAC bi-monthly meeting: Date 22.11.2021 Ms. Nasima Akter Member of Bandura Union Parishad under Nawabganj Upazia said that the activities of the Union Legal Aid Committee can be informed through bi-monthly meetings. At the bi-monthly meeting, it is learned whose cases are being settled through the District Legal Aid Office. Nice to hear the up-dates from Bandura Union Parishad to the clients who have been sent to the District Legal Aid Office. And when we hear that the District Legal Aid Office has solved their problem without any cost, it feels very good.
UZLAC Meeting: 24 November 2021 the bi- monthly meeting was organized with the members of Keraniganj Upazila Legal Aid Committee, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mr Md. Mehedi Hasan presided over the meeting. He said that from now on, the meeting of the Legal Aid Committee should be held regularly every bi-month and the resolutions of the meetings should be recorded in file from now on. I saw that Keraniganj Upazila Parishad Legal Aid Committee has a billboard but the billboard is very old and worn out. It needs to be repaired. I would like to set up a Legal Aid Helpdesk beside the Upazila Information Center Office so that those who come to the Upazila Parished office for legal aid help they can get legal aid.
