Joint management committee formation through election
Project team trying to ensure children’s participation through the process of developing the capacity of the children to take control of their lives and increase their self-esteem involved a Joint Management Committee of children and staff that has undertaken the day-to-day management of the centre.
Through a election process, the project children elect 7 candidates (equal participation of girls and boys) and 2 staff members from the project.
The programme is very careful to avoid conventional top-down approaches as far as possible. The JMC themselves develop their terms of reference that stated their roles and responsibilities for the betterment of the programme. DIC-Boys team is organized to reform and re-organized the JMCas per our standard operation procedure (SOP).
